Adams, formerly known as East Hoosuck plantation, was founded in 1778. It had no parent town. There are no published records.

October 15, 1778, established as a town.
April 10, 1780, the plantation New Providence annexed.
March 14, 1793, part included in the new town of Cheshire.
April 16, 1878, part established as North Adams.

Cheshire was founded in 1793. Its parent towns were Adams, Lanesborough, Windsor and New Ashford District.
The vital records for the period of 1750-1865 were destroyed by fire. Marriage intention records were at the home of the Town Clerk at the time of the fire. No records have been published.

Clarksburg, founded in 1798, had no parent town. There are no published records.
March 14, 1793, incorporated as a town
February 26, 1794, part re-annexed to Windsor.
Feburary 6, 1798, part of District of New Ashford annexed.

Egremont, founded in 1760, had no parent town. No records have been published.
February 13, 1760, established as the district of Egremont, from certain lands lying west of Sheffield.
August 23, 1775, made a town, by general act under which districts became towns.
February 6, 1790, bounds between Egremont and Alford established.
February 22, 1790, part of Sheffield annexed.
June 17, 1817, bounds between Egremont and Mount Washington established and part of each town annexed to the other.
February 16, 1824, part of Sheffield annexed.
June 4, 1869, bounds between Egremont and Sheffield established.

Florida was founded in 1805. Its parent towns were Barnardstone's Grant and part of Bullock's Grant, Stoughton and Walpole. No records have been published.
June 15, 1805, incorporated as a town.
May 2, 1848, part of Clarksburg annexed.
May 20, 1852, part annexed to Clarksburg.

Hancock, formerly known as Jerico plantation, was founded in 1776. It had no parent town. No records have been published.
July 2, 1776, established as a town.
June 25, 1835, part of Hancock annexed to the district of New Ashford.
May 20, 1851, bounds between Hancock and New Ashford established.

Lanesborough, formerly known as New Framingham plantation, was founded in 1765. It had no parent town.
The records from 1700-1842 were destroyed in a fire. Some of the records from St. Luke's Church exist and will be transcribed later.

Lenox was founded in 1767. It parent town was Richmont, now . No records have been published.
February 26, 1767, incorporated as a separate district by the name of Lenox.
November 20, 1770, lands adjoining annexed.
April 25, 1772, certain estates set off from the district of Lenox and annexed to Richmont.
August 23, 1775, made a town, by general act under which districts became towns.
Januray 31, 1795, part of Washington annexed.
February 18, 1802, part of Washington annexed.
March 7, 1806, bounds between Lenox and Lee established.
February 7, 1820, bounds between Lenox and Lee established.

Monterey was founded in 1847. Its parent town was Tyringham. Mount Washington, formerly known as Tauconnuck Mount, was founded in 1779. It had no parent town. There are no published records.

New Marlborough, founded in 1759, had no parent town. There are no published records.
June 15, 1779, established as the District of New Marlborough. Formerly the New Marlborough plantaion.
August 23, 1779, made a town by general act.
June 19, 1795, part of Sheffield annexed.
February 7, 1798, part of Tyringham annexed.
February 11, 1812, part annexed by Tyringham.
May 24, 1851, part annexed by Monterey.
April 19, 1871, part of Sheffield annexed and bounds established.

North Adams, founded in 1878, its parent town was Adams

Pittsfield, formerly known as Pontoosuck plantation, was founded in 1761. There are no published records.
April 21, 1761, established as a town.
June 5, 1889, incorporated as a city.
February 11, 1890, Act of June 5, 1889, accepted by the town.

Savoy, founded in 1797, it had no parent town. There are no published records.
February 20, 1797, incorporated as a town.

Sheffield, also known as Houssatannock Lower Plantation, Schaghticoke, Skatecook and Scaticook, was founded in 1733. It had no parent town. There are no published records.
January 22, 1733, established as a town.
June 19, 1753, certain lands lying west of Sheffield annexed.
January 21, 1760, certain estates annexed.
June 30, 1761, part established as Great Barrington.
February 22, 1790, part annexted by Egremont.
June 19, 1796, part annexed by New Marlborough.
February 7, 1798, part annexed by New Marlborough.
February 16, 1824, part annexed by Egremont.
June 4, 1869, bounds between Sheffield and Egremont established.
April 19, 1871, part annexed by New Marlborough and bounds established.

Stockbridge, formerly known as Indian town plantation, was founded in 1739. It had no parent town. No records have been published.

March 9, 1774, part established as the district of West Stockbridge.
